El Yaque is located 8 km from the int´l airport PORLAMAR which is the biggest city of Isla de Margarita. El Yaque is the best windsurfspot of the island and one of the world´s best windsurfarea. The wind blows over 300 days a year. The wind is coused by the tradewinds and the funnel effect between the island and the main land of Venezuela (see wind statistics).
